The Realpolitics of Malaysia

As we all know, the by-election is coming so amid the economic crisis the political heat is on. As we can see from the banners in Perak(sorry, I don't have any pictures but you can go to other blogs to see the banners),the opposition is trying to use the takeover of Perak as an excuse that the voters should reject BN due to their dirty techniques on buying over the PR assymblemen. On the BN side one of the asymblemen that jumped over Osman Jailu had been used by the BN to tell why he left the government explaining that there was a political tussle between DAP and PAS and that there are only interested on their personal gains(news from NSTP) where as he and his other friend Jamaludin had been sidelined. The biggest political statement from him is that he jumped over because of the Malays, saying that he didn't want to be involved in the state action that is deemed to sidetrack the malay cause. This statement may carry political milleage on the by-election in Bukit Gantang as the majority of the voters are malays, and seing the PR government there as a puppet to DAP and trying to forgo their rights may cause and emotional factor that will be a massive boost for BN eventhough this is a parlimentary by-election not a state one.Of course that's the BN's story, according to the PR story, the assymblemens that jumped ship, including Osman, are corrupt individuals and they are paid millions by the BN to conspire to crush the PR government in Perak. Now for political purposesses,BN might as well used them.I must say,I admire Najib political skill, and I think he will give Anwar a tough fight compared to Pak Lah.Look at the BN strategy using Malay insecurity on other races, especially the chinese,to gain votes(DAP is a perdominantly chinese party and it's Malaysian Malaysia concept is hated by malays generally, especially the less informed rural area in which Bukit Gantang is from my point of view) and the PR has not yet except for the corruption thing, retaliate to the BN claims.I'm not being racist here but the fact that here in Malaysia, nothing has helped to gain votes then to talk about race, religion, culture and other sensitive issues. It has been used by the opposition to especially PAS and DAP(the attack on teching english in science and mathematics by PAS leaders is one example) and it has helped this parties go to the distance,so I don't think that in the interest of UMNO,that they to not play this game. After all,it is the voters fault as they are colonized by the politics of fear played by the political parties,as they are not brave enough to let their insecurities go and demand a new politics from the political parties in which constructive issues be debated such as the country's economy, education or social system that are currently on a mess rather than talked about petty issues such as racial issues or the keris, come on both this issues are not going to help us buil a better Malaysia. So let us all, demand from our political parties and politicians WE WANT A NEW POLITICS TO TAKE PLACE,A BETTER POLITICS,WE WANT CHANGE,A CHANGE FOR THE BETTER.(ps the reason I don't touch much on the PR political strategy is because so far there isn't much to talk about,I guess because their machinery is not in full gear yet.)
